My journey into my caregiving career began in 2018, when I was hired to work in the dining room of a care facility. I found that I really enjoyed observing & interacting with the residents.
So, I applied for my first caregiver position.
I was placed in the memory care house, and was working full time with residents who had dementia and Alzheimer’s. It was very different from what I was used to, and much more challenging, but I was happy to be of service to them.
Working in facilities didn't end up being a good fit for me, and it led me to apply as an in-home caregiver. Unfortunately, the larger companies I applied to didn’t serve the areas close to where I lived (Forest Grove, Gaston, or Yamhill). I figured, there's probably a need for a local in-home care provider.
Turned out I was right. So, in an effort to serve our community, I created Kristina Cares™.
I love what I do. I consider myself lucky to have found a career that brings me so much joy. ❤️
